GETTING BACK TO MY ROOTS
3 Comments
A few months ago I was perusing the online job ads and came across one that piqued my interest. It was a position working in the theatre as the Group and Community Sales Director for Shakespeare Santa Cruz, which is part of the University of California system here in Santa Cruz. It was for a part-time position and temporary, only lasting through the season. I thought it sounded like a fun job, and with an undergrad degree in theatre and an MS in Internet Marketing, I figured I was qualified and might have a shot at an interview so I applied. That was months ago. Then a few weeks ago I got a call for an interview. There was a panel of four interviewers on the other side of the table (somewhat intimidating, especially since the artistic director went to Julliard and has performed with Olympia Dukakis at ACT), and as I answered their questions and conversed with them, I realized just how much I really wanted the job. And guess what? I got it. I started this past week and I absolutely love it. Paul says he’s never seen me so excited and enthused about a job and he’s right.Stay tuned and I will be giving you updates and information on this year’s Shakespeare Santa Cruz season. In the meantime, you can check out the Shakespeare Santa Cruz 2011 calendar.
