HOLIDAY SPIRIT
2 CommentsPaul and I have come up with a new strategy this year to handle the stress and chaos associated with Christmas. Since Paul hates shopping to begin with, and I am limited on time, we have decided to give each of our children money to buy their siblings presents this year. This way, they can be involved in the process and do all the work. We’ll still buy them a few presents, but mostly they are doing the budgeting and choosing. They are thrilled. They’ve been making lists all week and cannot wait to get started. We’re getting our tree tomorrow and they are going shopping on Sunday. This idea works for all of us. It teaches the children the value of money, time and above all…giving.
We also plan to contribute to our favorite charities, The Fresh Air Fund, that offers inner city kids the opportunity to go to camp and The Rebele Family Shelter, that helps homeless families get back on their feet. These are both wonderful causes that I truly believe in. If you have a charity or organization that you would like me to promote this holiday season, by all means, please let me know.
Happy Holidays to all of you. May the New Year bring you health, peace and prosperity.
