Let’s hear from you.

I would like my blog to be a forum for my readers to share their stories and experiences and express their views and opinions about being a part of a blended family. I am working on a book tentatively titled:Blended Family Stories. It will be an in depth look at the real life challenges and joys of successful blended families. If you would like to be part of my research I'd love to hear from you.Take my Blended Family survey

  • PAUL HAS THE FLU

Paul has been sick with the flu since Friday. Thankfully, this is a no kid weekend and he can rest. It is very hard for a man like Paul to be down for a few days. He keeps getting up every few hours to walk around outside. As a type A/alpha male, he does not know how to relax, even with a fever, body aches and chills. I am happy to make him soup and tea and run to the drugstore for cough medicine. What I don’t want to do is be anywhere near him. He hasn’t shaved or showered in days, he keeps coughing up phlegm and he’s all sweaty. What he wants me to do more than anything is to sit next to him on the bed and hold his hand. And I do. But I immediately wash my hands afterward and disinfect any object he comes in contact with with antibacterial cleanser. There is a reason I have not had a cold in 10 years. Because if I get sick, no one is taking care of me. I’ve had my flu shot. Let’s hope is works.
