Let’s hear from you.

I would like my blog to be a forum for my readers to share their stories and experiences and express their views and opinions about being a part of a blended family. I am working on a book tentatively titled:Blended Family Stories. It will be an in depth look at the real life challenges and joys of successful blended families. If you would like to be part of my research I'd love to hear from you.Take my Blended Family survey

  • MY DAUGHTER FRIENDED ME ON FACEBOOK!

It is my honor and privilege to announce that Eva, my newly turned teenager, has friended me on Facebook.  I told her this when I accepted her “friending” of me, to which she replied,”Mom, your (sic) weird, but thanks.” I am most certain that I am making waaaay too much of a big deal about this, but from what I have heard most kids would rather be caught dead than have their parents as friends on Facebook and usually block them from their accounts. I have to stop gushing or else I will embarrass her, which apparently I do on a regular basis. I will also refrain from saying my usual: “Some day you will be a mother and you will know how I feel.”

Check out this link from Stanford Magazine about being friends with your kids on Facebook: http://www.stanfordalumni.org/news/magazine/2009/mayjun/pc/fogg.html

  2. Why thank you Kathryn. That was an excellent article. I highly recommend that every parent read it and become “friends” with your kids.
