Let’s hear from you.

I would like my blog to be a forum for my readers to share their stories and experiences and express their views and opinions about being a part of a blended family. I am working on a book tentatively titled:Blended Family Stories. It will be an in depth look at the real life challenges and joys of successful blended families. If you would like to be part of my research I'd love to hear from you.Take my Blended Family survey

  • I WONDER HOW MANY WEIGHT WATCHER ACTIVITY POINTS YOU EARN CARPOOLING?

The month of June has always been hectic in our house. Not only is it the end of the school year, it is also Sophia and Eva’s birthday month. This year they both have benchmark birthdays: 16 and 13. In addition  Cheryl graduated from elementary school, Sam is graduating from high school and Paul’s dad turned 89.

This week is Cheryl’s last and here is the rundown of activities just for her. One kid, one school. There’s an ice cream party on Monday. Can you donate a topping? (Here, Cheryl, take this bottle of strawberry syrup that has been in the refrigerator for two years.) There’s a beach party on Tuesday. Don’t forget to pack sunscreen and a towel. Oh, and can you drive? There’s a Boardwalk field trip on Wednesday. Don’t forget to send in money. Oh, and can you drive? Talent show on Thursday. Can you send in some punch and cookies? Friday there’s a half day and everyone is going over to Maura’s house to make scrapbooks. If you have pictures and stickers don’t forget to bring those. Again, that’s one kid at one school. Multiply that by five and I am lucky if I am still standing.

I can’t wait for school to be over. I won’t have to pack lunches. There won’t be any rush to get anywhere. The kids can ride their bikes to the beach and maybe, finally, we can kick back, relax and recharge.
