TEN REASONS WHY I’M FABULOUS
No CommentsMeg Whitman recently announced that she is running for governor of California. For those of you who don’t know who she is, Ms. Whitman is a retired CEO of EBay, that multi-billion dollar on-line auction site that was created so people could have a place to sell their collections of PEZ dispensers. I applaud her success and that of other women like her. They inspire me to explore my own accomplishments and take stock in all of my great qualities. For the benefit of myself and for those of you who would like to read them, I would like to share with you the top 10 reasons why I think I am fabulous.
1. I am resourceful. I once made a woolly mammoth costume out of the dog bed. When Sophia told me at 10pm the night before her class play that she needed a woolly mammoth costume the next day I didn’t panic. I took one look at the dog lying comfortably on his faux Sherpa dog bed, put the two together, and Voila!, woolly mammoth costume. (Don’t worry, I washed it first.)
2. I’m great in a crisis. When my kids’ finches got out of their cage, I caught them mid-air with my bare hands. (I’ve since bought a net.)
3. I own a fog machine.
4. I’m a champion multi-tasker and have been known to be able to pay bills, cook dinner and fold laundry while talking on the phone. I used to be able to breast feed while pushing a shopping cart but they are a bit old for that now.
5. I know how to make Play-Doh, Gak and Silly Putty and always have all the ingredients on hand.
6. I’m a supportive and loving wife. Whenever my husband is tired or feeling defeated, I always stand behind him so I can whisper in his ear, “Don’t give up.”
7. I can time travel and can be at three places at one time.
8. I’m a terrific hostess and can throw a party for a hundred people with a week’s notice.
9. I’m patient. I once waited over an hour to coax my daughter’s hamster out of the wall where is was trapped.
And finally…
10. I know what is truly important in life… good health, inner peace and contentment, and I count my blessings for all that is good and I treasure my life… just the way it is.
I invite you to share your reasons why you think you or a woman you know is fabulous.
